Research Group: Crop Production and Production Systems
The group aim to do research focusing on plant growth and quality at the crop, crop rotation, and cropping system level.
We work with the development of plants for food, feed, and biomass production.
Optimization of crop production and quality include improvement of plant potential through breeding, based on studies of genetic diversity including new crop species.
Irrigation strategies are optimized based on studies of regulation of plant processes under drought stress, and we study physiology of plant and crop root growth, and their water and nutrient uptake.
We work with understanding, evaluation, and development of cropping systems, organic as well as conventional, and their productivity and interaction with the surrounding environment (Associate Prof. Vibeke Langer, Associate Prof. Fulai Liu, Associate Prof. Sven-Erik Jacobsen, Prof. Kristian Thorup-Kristensen).
